This model of Cisa Electric Rim Lock is the most popular by far, and is very similar to the 11630 save this version has no ability to stop the red push button on the inside from operation. These units out of the range are best recommended where there is always a requirement to have a means of escape unhindered. As the 11630 can have the red button disengaged can restrict unhindered means of escape.
The lock come with a rim cylinder that has a long enough cam that would allow this lock to be fitted on doors up to 80 mm thick approximate. The rim cylinder come with three keys as standard.
The UK has two sizes of rim latches. 40 mm back set and 60 mm backset. If you where thinking of retro fitting one of these on a door that had a rim lock fitted with a 60 mm backset then the hole should be in the same position for both locks. The backset is a measurement from the leading edge of the lock back towards the centre of the cylinder cam.
The cylinder on the outside allows with the use of the key to operate the lock and the button on the inside mechanically opens the lock also.
Connecting power to these locks is normally done through the door from the hinge side. We show an option of a door loop on the page if needed but we also are able to offer the Cisa Current Transfer Unit, which can be used either on the hinge-side or the opening side of the door if you already have power there from an old strike release or similar.
We also show a power supply. These locks are quite power hungry compared to some locks and require around 2.5 amps to drive the solenoid bolt. So we have listed also a 3 amp power supply if needed. Please note that if integrating with an intercom or similar, if the system does not offer "dry" volt-free contacts then you'll need to consider using the Handy Relay we offer also.
In addition to the options you will also see a London Bar that can be fitted over the keep in the frame (inward opening only) and this will 'beef' up the security of the keep on the frame.
The size of the lock case is 35 mm deep, 125mm long and 102 mm high. They are handed and shown on the page is the handing chart. The handing of these locks differ to the standard UK, so please check the handing from the handing chart.
These locks are simple in their design and is quite possibly one of the reasons for their popularity. Simple means in this case that they just work and they work well for these types of applications.
The finish of this lock is a powder coated grey.
