UNION StrongBOLT lock Suitable for doors up to 54mm thick. Meets the latest BS3621:2007 standards and is also recommended by the UK Police scheme. The UNION StrongBOLT has a unique chamfered bolt design which increase the preformance of the lock under side load attack. In Addition the hardened steel pins within the bolt construction provide resistance from sawing and the shape of the bolt also provide little opportunity for destructive tools to make positive contact.
UNION StrongBOLT features radius inner forends for ease of first fit installation or simple retro fit replacement. It is designed using the same footprint as many UK first for products, therefore eliminating the need for additional tooling or carpentry saving time and money as well as avoiding spoiling the aesthetics of the door which may occur on a retro fot installation.
Operation
- Deadbolt locked or unlocked by the key from either side
- 20mm deadbolt for secure positive deadlocking and
additional resistance against attack - 2100S can be keyed alike with 2200S
Feature
- Anti-pick, anti-saw and anti-drill security features for
resistance against attack - Chamfered bolt design increases the performance of the
lock under side load testing. The chamfer of the bolt also
makes drilling attack more difficult - Supplied with covered escutcheon to match forend

Hi, guys. My name's Darrel. I'm the head of the Tech Team here at
LocksOnline.co.uk and we're going to be doing some product reviews today.
So, what I have in front of me is the Union Strong Bolt Deadlock; and they
come in a lot of different finishes, but let's just take it all out of its
box and let's have a look exactly what you do to get in the box; so if you
want to zoom in a little bit there for us Lee. So, let's have a look at the
striking plate.
This is the full, what we call in the industry, a full body striking plate
and everything is protected there;. This particular one that I have in
front of me is the brass version and you can see that's a nice finished
brass; where I made some fingerprints now, but it's a nice brass version
the actual lock case itself; now these are the lock cases, I'm going to
pull this out.
This here is the keep; and if you notice there, I don't know if you can
zoom in there, then you can see the British Standard kite markers. This
particular lock is British Standard 3621; so there is the British Standard,
they're demonstrating that; so, the actual lock itself, here is the lock
and what you will see here on the face of it, oh, on the side, forgive me;
you've got a plate here and this plate here is what we call in the trade is
an "Anti-drill plate", and the whole idea and the purpose of this drill
plate is that should anybody want to try and drill through to circumvent
this lock, then this makes their job incredibly difficult.
What you'll also see here is a silver piece around the key hole, we call
this a curtain; it's actually a shroud inside the lock that stops anybody
trying to manipulate or pick the levers inside. So again, these are all
requisites, prerequisites of having the British Standard 3621 kite mark on
the lock.
The actual bolt, if I could find the keys here, it comes with two keys as
standard, there's the key; the bolt projection on the new British Standard
is a standard 22 mil and as you can see they're sporting quite a nice
finish here, where it's slightly beveled on the corners. If you can
actually zoom in there a little bit, you'll see that there's two roller
bars that are in there and again, those roller bars that should you start
to hacksaw this lock or to try and get through this lock then those
hacksaw, sorry, those bolts inside there will rotate.
So, as you start cutting of course, that is just going to rotate back and
forth as the blade goes over it. All right, so it's going to take you
forever to try and hacksaw your way through should you want to. So, those
are all prerequisites of the British Standard.
Now, these particular locks, they come in two different finishes. Here's
the brass finish that we've already got here, but they also come in a
stainless steel finish as well, OK; so that's the finish. They also come as
well, with their own little and of course in this
particular case this is brass
there's a little bit of plastic over those there to make sure they don't
tarnish, while they're in transit.
The one on the outside is sporting the Union brand; and this is the one,
where you've got the little cover over the side of it that flops down to
stop the draft and keep you nice and warm inside; so, that comes as
standard with these. Of course, it comes with the fixing screws and there's
all the fixing screws in there, and it comes with some, I've got to say,
some quite comprehensive instructions on how to fit it; so, spend yourself
five minutes, sit down and have a read of it; it's all through pictograms.
So, it's not that difficult to sit down and understand, if you're
fitting it or if you're retro fitting it; you should be okay.
Now, the case also comes in two different sizes; the one I'm sporting here
is the two and a half inch thickness, that's the thickness there; that's
two and a half inches, but it also comes in a little bit bigger; it comes
in a three inch, which means, that this key hole will then move over about
a little bit more, because the lock case is actually a lot bit deeper.
So, there you go. This is the Union Strong Bolt range of locks. Just
information as well is that they do a range of sash
locks and we can here at LocksOnline.co.uk key these alike. So, if you
wanted to have a deadbolt further down and a sash lock a little bit further
up or you wanted to do front door and your back door on the same key, we do
this here in-house for you.
So, yeah, a great lock. What can I say? If you're thinking of putting some
good British Standard locks, I'd seriously consider this one. Yeah, so I
hope this video has helped you make an informed decision as to what
security and what locks will be best suited for you and many thanks for
viewing. Take care now and hop online and visit us again some time. Take
care. Bye, bye.
