The Fuhr 855 (Type 1) is a key-operated lock often referred to as a 'wind up lock'. This makes them suitable for use with electronic strike releases on uPVC doors!
This key-wind operation allows you to control the full multipoint lock via key. So where you would normally use the handles to operate the locking points by lifting the handle, on this gearbox the key operates everything.
A double turn of the key will engage all the roller cams, then a double turn the opposite way will return them all. A further small turn of the key will then pull back the latch.
The lock offers four roller cams, as well as the latch and deadbolt in the centre; all on a standard 16mm rail for uPVC doors.
Available in the standard setup of 35mm (backset) and 92mm (PZ measurement), these are a very popular keywind lock.
