Hi, guys. My name is Darrel. I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in to one of our product review videos.
The product that we have here at this moment in time is manufactured by Union. It's a Rim double handed deadlock designed to go on wooden doors and here is the actual lock here itself now. It comes with the two parts. This is the actual lock itself. I can spin that around so you can actually see it there a little bit in the flesh. They say it's double-handed and the reason why it's double-handed or they call it double-handed is because if, obviously, the door was this way, then, you can put the key in at the top there. And of course then if it's the other way you can still put the key in the top there. So, it doesn't matter which hand that you decide you want this lock fitted to, the key will still go the right way around, obviously, down like that.
Now, there's not a lot of security with this. It's designed more for passive security. It could be probably ideal on your coal shed or something similar like that. It's only a one lever, and so, not very big security at all with this particular lock.
It comes standard with it's keep. This is the actual keep here and of course then that would actually sit then on there like that. And then it comes with it's fixings as well, that allows you then to fix it to the door. Now the manufacturers say it's good for a door that's up to 50mm thick. And the reason why they are suggesting that is how far you can actually pop this on to a door and how thick can the door be. Fifty millimetres is just about there, guys. So it will do up to a 50mm thick door, no problem at all. But, 44mm is the UK standard for external doors, so it's well within that particular scope as well.
Now they are available in keyed alikes so you can have the same key to fit a range of them if you want by special order. Should you want to have one on your back door, one on your side door, one on your shed door, one on your coal shed door and you want them all to be the same key, then we can offer that as a feature and a service as well.
So, without further ado we will get a couple of measurements for you. The actual case body depth is 105mm from there to there with a 106 or 107 at a push. It's height is 90mm. And you've got this little lip here that will fold over the side of the door. That goes in somewhere in the region of 15, 16mm and of course we've got that particular width. And we'll throw the bolt out as well and get some measurements on the bolt as well. So there is the bolt that's out now sticking out of the door like that. And I'll get the projection. The projection there is 13, 14mm and it's width there is 10mm and it's height there is 20, 22mm. So, there you go, guys.
Not much to say about it. It has it's uses. It has it's functionalities. It's not high security though. Be mindful of that. It's not the sort of lock that you want to rely on as the only lock for your final exit doors.
So from me Darrel here and all of us at the LocksOnline team, may I take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to look at this video. But in the meantime if you need some more information on this or any product on our website, listen, pop over us an email or use our live chat through the working day or pick up the phone and have a chat with us over the phone. You can chat with me directly, no problem at all. But anyway, in the meantime, either way, we'd love to see you as a customer. We'd really appreciate that. So, from me, Darrel, and all of us here at the team, take care. Bye-bye. Bye-bye, now.
