This privacy turn locking deadbolt offers a fantastic double-bolt-throw operated either by key on the outside or via a turn snib on the inside as shown in the photo. This allows you to turn the key once for standard locking, then also allows, another full turn of the key gives you a full 25mm bolt projection.
To put this into perspective, the BS3621 standard for high-security locks specifies a minimum bolt length, of 20mm. So this full 1" bolt is a decent size without question. Although it is worth noting that this British Standard does not apply in the case of locking knobsets; it is mentioned as a reference point only.
These knob sets have a bolt-through design. This means you're getting a nice firm fit on the door, with no support being required from the door material itsself; as the fixing bolts simply pass through the door into the opposing side, so the outer piece and inner piece are essentially clamped together against the surface of the door.
Designed for doors 35-45mm thick; we also offer an additional fitting kit for thicker doors; which allows you to fit these onto doors up to 60mm thick; covering the vast majority of metal and timber doors of all ages; and even the newer composite doors.
These are supplied with two keys as standard, and are available in two stunning finishes of Polished Chrome and Polished Brass; allowing for seamless integration into the majority of door hardware finish / colour schemes out there.
