This Imperial Locks mortice latch is their standard flat-pattern latch designed for general purpose in households and similar non-intensive environments. The body of these latches is very typical of an internal flat pattern latch, being 76mm deep (approx. 3") and 38mm high (roughly 1½").
Due to these being a more light-duty solution, it is necessary that the handles or door knobs that you use are self-sprung. This is due to the springing inside the latch only being standard-duty graded, and not heavy duty which is required for unsprung furniture. So for this reason you must ensure that your handle or knobs will self-center on their own springs, else you will, over time wear out the spring in the latch and it would need replacing.
We also offer rebate kits for these latches, so they are also suitable for rebated double doors - which is very handy for households with double doors that have that overlapping centre point.
The body is also pierced to accept bolt-through fixings horizontally at 38mm centres - this is designed to accommodate most bolt-through door knobs and handle sets.
Standard finishes are Satin Brass and Satin Stainless Steel - however, you can also order the special Polished Brass & Polished Stainless versions as well as Satin Black and Antique Bronze!
Please be aware that the Imperial Locks
range is manufactured to order for you specially - so please allow
additional time for these to be dispatched!
These locks are fire-tested to BS EN 1634-1:2000
Important: These items are built-to-order specially for you and are not 'off-the-shelf' items. Therefore please allow a 2-3 week manufacturing period before dispatch. As such, these products they are deemed non-returnable so please double-check your requirements before placing your order.
