Designed for up-and-over style garage doors also known as canopy doors, these locks are keyed alike in pairs, so ordering one set, you will get two keyed alike locks, one for each side of your garage door.
The majority of garage door locks are not a 5-lever mechanism, which can often be required by your insurance company in order to cover the contents of your garage within your insurance policy. There may be occasions where an insurer may ask for BS3621 garage door locks - but you must be aware, you need to get them to modify this requirement as there are no purpose-made locks for garage doors which comply to BS3621 as this standard does not cover garage doors in any case.
These locks will work on doors with a folded-metal construction, where on the inside of the door, there is a U-shaped curve creating the edge of the door. It is in this frame-facing channel that you would fit these locks - so this channel needs to be at least 26mm wide in order to accommodate the thickness of the lock face. The locks then are simply bolted through the metal, and the keeps fitted to the frame, so that the hardened anti-saw deadbolt can project out into the frame.
