The Willenhall "Wil-Lok" M1 is a 5-Lever Mortice Deadlock which is available keyed-alike and keyed to differ.
Keyed-alike is useful when you're fitting locks on multiple doors and would like them to all work from the same keys - eliminating the need to carry multiple sets. These are available in the 75mm case size only on the Willenhall M1.
Keyed to differ is more useful when you do not require this 'one key fits all' functionality - this is preferable in some cases, where you may not want one key holder to access to another locked door that is only for someone else's use. These are available in the 64mm size.
These locks come with matching keyhole escutcheons, helping you make a tidy finished job after installation of the lock.Supplied with two keys!

Hi guys. Many thanks for tuning in. My name's Darrel, I'm head of the Tech Team here at LocksOnline.co.uk and today we're looking at the The Willenhall 5 lit-, 5 Lever, sorry, M1 Dead Lock. So, here is the actual dead lock itself. The case colour has changed over the years. This used to be blue in colour. The one that we have here, and it is the M1, is now sporting a new black finish, for whatever reason, but needless to say, it is still the same type of lock.
Now, Willenhall is a manufacturer who've been around for a long time, and they do make some really good quality locks. I mean, feel the weight of this. It's nice. It's good quality build, and I'm almost sure, and I could still be corrected, but they are still actually manufacturing in the U.K. as well. So if you are looking for a U.K. built product, hey guys, this is the lock for you.
Now, it is the 5 lever version, which means it is the minimum security that you would expect to be seeing now on a wooden door for an external use. So, you don't want to be getting any less than this. Now, this particular lock is sporting 3 keys as standard with the actual lock. We can actually get it keyed alike, should you want to get it keyed alike as well.
So, if I actually put the lock in there, and throw the bolt over, you can see there, the finish on that bolt is precise. This isn't, this isn't something that has been casted. This is something that has been machined, and you can feel how sharp the edges and so forth are, emphasising the quality of the particular product. You can also see as well, is that you've got some roller cams that are actually built into the bolt there, and those particular roller cams are designed that should you decide to hacksaw, then those roller cams'll roll when the blade hits it, and it will be a hell of a lot harder to try and get open this lock by hacksawing it open. So that gives you a little bit more peace of mind, and a little bit more security in respect of that.
The actual keep as well, is what we call in the trade, a full bodied keep, and the actual keep is boxed in as well, to stop anybody hacking out the timber to try and attack the bolt. So, you know, it works really, really well.
The bolt projection on this now, which don't normally get mentioned that much these days, but that is 16 millimetres. The new British Standard is 22 millimetres. So, it's just a little bit low, under the British Standard, but this isn't trying to be a British Standard Lock. It's a 5 lever lock.
Now, it comes in two different sizes. It comes in either a 2.5 inch version, which is the version that I have here, but also comes in a bit deeper one as well, which is a 3 inch backset, a 3 inch case depth as well. On this particular type of lock, the backset is the distance from the keyhole to the faceplate, on this particular lock, it is 41 millimetres. The case height there, that's the height from there to there, is 76 millimetres. The fore-end height from there to there is 143 millimetres, and that is exactly the same on the 3 inch version as well, and also the foreend width here, which is the width across there, is 25 millimetres as well.
Very, very popular lock, believe it or not. Maybe it is to do with the build quality that people who have seen this particular type of lock say 'Yeah, I want-, I don't want to be high security, but I want just a good quality, all-round, multipurpose sort of, dead lock' for their door.
It comes with a set of keeps, and of course, this is sporting the brass keeps, and it comes with some fixing screws as well for you. So, yeah, I may have mentioned as well, it is available in a satin chrome finish as well, as well as this brass finish that you see here.
So, you know, if you need any more information, if I haven't mentioned something there that you think 'Oh, I need to know that' or 'I wish he'd have mentioned that,' look, listen, pop an e-mail to us. We'd love to chat with you, and, or pick up the phone and give us a call, or use our Live Chat that we now have on our website. Either way, we'd love to speak to you, and better still, we'd love you to add it to the cart.
So from me, Darrel many thanks for taking the time to watch this video, and catch up with you real soon. Take care guys. Thank you. Bye-bye.
