With an additional shroud around the keyway allowing for 5x more unique differs than the popular G5000 5-lever Imperial sashlock, these locks utilise horizontal cuts known as side-wards on the key as well as the typical vertical cuts. This increases the uniqueness of your key which when it comes to security is not a bad thing! In addition to this, in order to ensure complexity in the configuration, the less complex arrays of levers available (such as 111111, 222222, 333333 and so on) are discarded and not used, ensuring that the levers in every lock are sufficiently diverse.
These days, 5-Lever locks are considered the minimal level of security that should be considered for securing entry doors; that is, if it's fitted on a door that sits on an outside wall and therefore protects the building from intruders, then nothing less than 5-lever should be considered.
For added security against attacking, these locks are built with two hardened steel rollers within the deadbolt. Designed to help protect against sawing, these rollers make hard work of any sawing attack, as a saw blade relies on a static surface to cut through, whereas with these tough hardened steel rollers in place once they were to hit one of them, the idea is that by them freely rotating within the bolt, they will simply spin as the saw moves over them, rendering the attack highly ineffective, as the saw will simply begin rolling the steel rollers back and fore - and even if they were eventually able to cut through, they'd soon be tasked with the second roller. So these rollers are really worth considering if comparing with other locks.
These lock cases are designed to compliment bolt-through furniture, which when it comes to door handles, is quite important as it allows for a secure, firm fit onto the door and means the handles are not relying on wood screws simply being screwed into the wood. We always try to recommend bolt-through handles and the design of this lock considers this. The case hosts a set of bolt-through fixing holes at 38mm centres - the most common distance between most bolt-through fixings. It is worth noting that on the 63mm model, these holes are diagonal only due to space limitations in the lock body itself, while the 76mm and 101mm case sizes offer both a horizontal and diagonal pair of holes. You'll see this in the photos.
Extra keys are also available - we can do this in our workshops here as well as the keying alike.
We are also able to offer a manual upgrade of the spring inside these locks, if you want to use unsprung door handles or door knobs with these, then you would need to go for the upgraded spring as the standard springs in these and other locks are designed to work with self-sprung handles.
