uPVC Sliding Patio Door Locks
Sliding uPVC doors are one of the most popularly fitted patio door solutions in the UK now, allowing you to bring the outside in during the summer months. In addition to this, they are commonly used for balcony door solutions due to their minimal space requirements.
One of the benefits of sliding doors as an alternative to double patio doors, is that because the door simply slides open, there's no space consumed in or outside of the doorway, maximising your space and eliminating the possibility of doors swinging in the wind. This is the principle reason for choosing a sliding door setup over double doors, and makes them incredibly popular for patio doors and balcony doors.
Because these doors slide, the multipoint locks that will work correctly with sliding doors are very specific - as you could not rely on a deadbolt to secure the door, you need hookbolts that will grab into the keeps on the frame.
However, choosing a simple hookbolt multipoint lock is not enough! Because these are sliding doors, if you were to accidentally engage the lock before trying to shut it, there's a lot of damage that can be caused to the lock and keeps (as well as the door and frame) if you were to slam the door shut with the lock already engaged. So the locks we offer all have push-pin mechanisms which prevent you from engaging the locks unless this pin is depressed, which occurs when it is closed against the keep on the frame.
