Hi, guys. My name is Darrel, and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look of one of our product review videos.
We're talking about sliding doors today, patio-type sliding doors. The ones that are mostly at the back of people's houses going out into the gardens, etc. And this is the actual lock that you may find in your patio door. If yours is starting to break down or starting to fail in some way or another, then it could be that this is the one that you're looking for. It's manufactured by a company called Winlock. It's called a six-lock inline mechanism. Now, what's quite special about this particular mechanism is the way that that lock is situated here, as you can see.
And if I was to press that, and that's the safety device, that stops you actually operating it until your actual door is closed. As you can see right there one shoots up and the other one shoots down. And it's mimicking that at the top, as well, as you can see there. Okay? And it's also mimicking it at the bottom, as well. All right? So that's quite special and it's a very, very unique sort of mechanism. And it's manufactured by a company called Winlock.
Now, they've also got a glide here in the centre. That means that when you actually close the door, that there takes position there to make sure that the door sits just right for these mechanisms to work in conjunction.
Now, you may be familiar as well, and it's not by no means certain. But this is the type of typical handle that you may see on the outside. Okay? And you'll see these little sliding pivot handles here like that. And then you got a key lock that sits in underneath. So that's the type of handle that you may see. But it may not be. But the type is there.
The PZ measurements on these particular locks, that's the distance from the centre of the handle to the centre of the keyhole is 90 mm. That's pretty standard these days. And also the backset there is 19 mm, as well. That's the distance from there to there, is 19 mm. So well worth you checking that out.
There's also a reference number also. I don't know if you can actually zoom in on that, Lee, just turn that around there. But there's some information. You may find that this sticker may have gone in time. But if you have that sticker on there then you may see some indents and identification and so forth on there. But it's quite small writing.
It comes as a standard 16 mm U-channel. And as you can see there, the channel is actually slightly Ued as opposed to it being flat. Okay? So that's another key ident. The size of this is 16 mm. In industry standard, size is 16 mm.
So there you go, guys. It's a patio lock. It's made by Winlock. It's used in UPVC sliding doors. And there's no reason why it couldn't be used in metal doors, but it's more geared around the use in a UPVC door.
So if there's some information, that you think, "Oh, I could do with this" or I haven't mentioned that. Look, pop us over an email, use our live chat on our website. It's totally free.
