These models are replacements for Kenrick multipoint lock gearboxes; this manufacturer produces specialized UPVC products.

The gearboxes in multipoint locks are usually one of the first components to fail in the system, this is because they often carry a load of mechanical stress as they are responsible for the entire system functioning.

Hi guys, my name's Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk.

Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos, and the product that we have here today is the Kenrick. It's the Excalibur range of gear boxes.

Now I've got a full multi-point lock here for you to have a look at, but the idea of the purpose of this video is to let you know that you can now get replacement gear boxes for this particular multi-point lock and you don't need to actually buy the complete multi-point lock. That is, of course, unless the whole lock is damaged, then you would, obviously.

The idea here is to look at the gear boxes. So, what we've got here is we've got a full multi-point lock here to give you some sort of idea as to, if you're thinking is this the one for you, let's have a look at some idents that you will see on the faceplate of the lock to give you a more informed decision.

So here's the actual lock here. Now they do come in different types of versions. This is the hook bolt version, but they do have different versions. So don't worry necessarily, about that. What I wanted to try to show to you here, I don't know whether or not you can actually zoom in on that for us, there Lee. But you'll see written up here the word "Excalibur". I don't know if I could change that into the word there a little bit. You can see the word "Excalibur" there. So as soon as you see that, then we're on the right track. That's the marker.

Just to let you know as well, is that you have this hold-back facility here, that you can actually hold back the latch a little bit there, as well. Now, these gear boxes come in two different sizes. Sorry, two different styles. The first style . . . Let me just see if I can get that to sit up there, nice and tidy, without falling over.

The first style, is that it has two followers here, look. There's one underneath the other. The reason for that is, is that if your hand on the outside sits a little bit further, and it can have different functions. Like a latching function from the outside, so it works like a Yale lock. Close the door and then you need a key in which to get in. From the inside, it allows you to completely lock the door. So it has these different latching functions. Or, you might find that when you've taken your door - when you've taken the lock out, you may find that you might not have that option there, in which case then it would either be the option with or without. It's as simple as that.

Now, just to give you some sort of more information on this particular lock, the standard backset is 35 millimetres, I knew that was going to drop then. Here you go, let's see if she can stay there. There you go, I think she's just about there.

Yeah, so the standard backset is 35 millimetres and also the PZ, that's the measurement from the centre of the keyhole to the centre of this follower here, is 92 and from the centre of the keyhole to this follower is 62 and you buy special sets of door furniture to allow you to use that.

Now one thing I wanted to mention also to you as well is, if you have a look here you've got the ability as well to undo that screw there, and that will allow you there to turn the handing around, if you need to.

So there you go guys. This is the range of Kenrick Excalibur gear boxes. They are now available on our website. As I've shown you there's two different options available, so, depending on how your handles, etc. set up and what functionality and features that you want, it can either be one of the two.

Either way, if I have forgot something or you think, "Ooh, I need to know this . . ." or you're not 100% sure, listen, pick up the phone, have a chat with us. Use our Live Chat on our website, it'd be great to hear from you and more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer.

So from me, Darrel, and all of us here at the team, thanks. Take care, bye-bye and I hope that doesn't fall over too soon.
