Hi guys, my name is Darrel, I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. And today we have in front of us is a UPVC letter plate. It's the letter box or plate, whatever you want to call it, that fits on a plastic door.

Now these are to replace, or, you know, if you've got a UPVC door that you've fit and you don't have a letter plate in it, maybe this is the one that you might want to consider. This is the 250 millimetre version and it's available in a silver finish. It's what we have here and it's also available in a white finish, and it's also available in a gold finish.

The outside there is spring-loaded, as you can see there. It's got a bit of a foam protection all the way around here to stop the wind howling through in the winter nights. And it comes with its own standard fixings. I'll see if I can get those out of there first. There we go. So it comes with two fixings and I'll explain to you how that all gets all fixed together in a second.

On the inside, again, you've got another flap on the inside as well. And, again, this is also spring-loaded. And what you'll see as well is you've got this brush that's built inside there. That's obviously, again, to stop the weather coming through, especially in our country anyway.

Okay, so let's try and get some measurements. I mean, one of the most important things is how thick a door can this actually go on. I'm kind of guessing if we were just to put those two together, I mean the way it works is that one actually sits inside the other there. So I'll get some measurements on that for you in a second, but one sits inside each other there. So having a little bit of distance there between the two, I'll see if I can get ourselves a bit of a measurement there.

So I would say comfortably we're looking at round about 75 millimetres. So, if your door is 75 millimetres or thinner, well as far as there anyway. Let me get how thin that is. That's being 36-37 millimetres, then as long as your door is that thick in between those two measurements, this letter plate will work on your door.

The idea is once you've actually cut your hole, you've slid this through, you've put the screws through there, and then they screw into that keep just inside there. I don't know if you can see that there for yourself. So that's how they screw through.

So let's have a look at the size of the aperture that you would need to cut in your door. Or, the size that, if you're thinking of replacing, at least then you could measure this. So the size of the main aperture is 220 millimetres. That's the size of the main aperture there is 220 millimetres, okay?

Let me get the fixing centres for you as well. The fixing centres there I'm saying is 235 millimetres. That's the fixing centres for the screw centres on either side.

So there you go. Not really much to say about this particular product. You know, it's designed as a replacement or a new install, and obviously to let your post in and keep the cold out.

But from me, Darrel Walters, at the tech team here, LocksOnline. Come and see us some day, and perhaps you might want to buy one of these off us. It'd be really appreciated.

Take care. Bye-bye now.
