The Abus 83 series brass open shackle padlock is a part of the 83 series of padlocks from ABUS, a German based manufacturer of security products. This model has been designed to have a hardened steel shackle that resists many forms of physical attack such as sawing and blunt force.
One of the main benefits of this model other than the security it provides is also the flexibility of keying arrangements available. This model can be keyed alike and master keyed to suit complex or simple installations.

The pin tumbler cylinder in the Abus 83 series brass open shackle padlock has anti-pick mushroom pins that aid to prevent a wide range of picking methods and overall provide another layer of protection to this robust and cost effective padlock.

Abus have also designed their new range of padlocks to be rekey able, this allows the locks to be changed into a new cylinder that will give a completely new key. This is perfect for sites where security equipment can get transferred from user to user.
