KASP Maximum Security CEN Grade Padlock

Achieving grade six (highest grade) under BS EN 12320 / CEN standard, the closed-shackle version of the 190 series of Kasp padlocks is classified as their maximum security padlock.  This padlock quite impressively weighs in at over 1.5kgs - almost 3½ lbs!  So it's unsurprising this padlock has achieved the maximum security rating. 

There is also an open-shackle version, which whilst not classified in the same way as the closed-shackle version, should be considered if the closed-shackle model will not work in your application as this is still a very solid padlock built with the same quality of materials and manufacturing, it simply cannot achieve the same rating with the open shackle configuration.

Both the open and closed shackle models are crafted from a single block of solid high grade hardened steel, and incorporate a whopping 14mm thick hardened boron steel shackle, secured by a double ball-bearing mechanism.   This is then operated by a 6-pin cylinder, utilising anti-pick mushroom pins and a paracentric keyway for added protection against lock-picking, and is protected by an anti-drill plate covering the cylinder, exposing only a necessary fraction of the lock barrel that is required to operate the key.

Needless to say, this padlock is a real contender when it comes to high security padlocks, and to make things even better, we can offer these keyed-alike or master-keyed, so if you want multiple padlocks all with the same keys, then you can opt for the keyed-alike configuration, or if you want them all keyed differently, but you as the owner want to have one key that opens all of them too, then master-keyed would be the solution for you.

Please note, on the closed-shackle model the shackle is completely removable so that there's no unnecessary gaps in the shielding around the shackle.  On the open-shackle model, the shackle is not removable, and is key-retaining, so you cannot remove the keys from the padlock until you have re-locked the padlock. 

Supplied with two keys per padlock as standard, we are happy to cut extra keys before dispatch if required - simply select your desired quantity of extra keys per padlock before adding to cart.

Please note, only the closed-shackle version has achieved the grade 6 maximum-security status. 

Important:  Any padlocks & associated hardware intended to be used in external settings should be properly maintained and lubricated to an appropriate level for the setting in order to ensure correct operation and protection from unnecessary weathering.
