Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I am head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. And thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos.

Today we're going to have a look at this groundbreaking Abus Granit Ground Anchor that we have now available on our website. And what a formidable product it is, indeed. Come down and have a look at this. This is the actual ground anchor itself. It's absolutely massive in regards to weight, which means that it's obviously built to last. There are no two questions about that. The thickness of this, let me have a look at the thickness of this actual shackle here, and it's over 16mm, okay, so that's quite substantial.

Also, another important thing as well is what the measurements are on the actual opening here, and we can get something in the region of 80mm across its width there. And also, if I can try and measure that one there, we're looking there at around about 70mm clearance in between there. So 80mm horizontal and 70mm vertical clearance. And of course, when you're not using it, it rolls down like that; it folds away. And there you go, that's the way actually sits on the floor, or on the wall, depending on what you want to do.

The purpose of ground anchors, of course, is to be able to bolt something like your motorbike or your chains or anything like that, your ladders or push bikes, or something like that, in the garage, for an extra bit of security.

Now the way that these are fixed, if I was to take the plastic cover off, which is held together with some screws, which are here, those small screws there, if I take that off there like that, that's the actual cosmetic side. This it the actual part then that gets actually fixed to the floor or to the wall. And look at the size of these fixings here, they're absolutely massive and you'll need to be drilling a 16mm hole in which to put the wall bolts into the floor to get this cranked up. These are the wall bolts that come with it as standard.

So the idea is you drill yourself your hole, you pop that in, and then you use an Allen key there in which to tighten it up really, really tight. And the piece de resistance here, is actually a little ball bearing and that sits in there like that, and you hit that in with a hammer, and that stops anybody then trying to get the Allen bolt out after. So certainly the plastic is covering that, and then you've got to drill that Allen bolt out, guys you ain't going to be getting away with that bike quickly. That's going to take some time. That's the whole idea behind all of that.

Now to give you some sort of other measurements as well, lets look at also the size of this plate as well, just to give you guys some additional measurements there. The width of the plate there is 115mm that way and then it's 150mm wide. The fixing centres, as you can see, if you look at that, they're slightly off centre there. But I'll give you those centres there. That one there is roughly about 105mm and that one there, guys, is about 80mm. So if you are thinking of fitting it, and these are the sorts of hole measurements you need to be looking at in regards to be putting it onto a wall or a carpet floor.

Also, it comes with installation instructions, which is here. I don't know if you can zoom in on that for us, Adam, but that will give you and idea as a flow chart of how all it all gets fixed into the substrate that you want to fix it to. And of course, as you can see on the bottom here, it says the size of the holes there need to be at least 16mm in diameter.

So there you go. It's the Abus Granit Ground Anchor. It's available on LocksOnline.co.uk. By all means, pop over, have a look. I hope this video has given you a bit more information. One thing we'd love to do is for you to buy it from us. That would be really good for us. So from me, Darrel, and all of us here at LocksOnline, thanks for taking the time to tune in and we'll catch up with you real soon. Take care. Bye-bye.
