Hi guys, my name is Darrel, and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos.

Today we're talking about security bars. There's a range of security bars that we have on our website. There are universal security bars designed with predominantly to go on windows. And the way they work is quite simple. They actually extend in and out, depending on the size of the window that you might have. And then there's a range, then, of different sizes that we have on our website, again depending on the size of your particular type of window.

Now when you're thinking about security bars on your windows, the idea really is to get at least a four-inch gap. You want to try and do four inches between each window bar. That's the idea, so people can't really get in through four inches. That seems to be more of an industry rule.

So when you're measuring your width, obviously divide it then, if it's whatever amount of inches wide, divide it by four and that gives you some sort of idea as to how many bars you should be considering. This is one of the 18- to 30-inch bar, and as you can see here, look. I'm adjusting that depending on the application in hand.

Now basically, it is really two bars. This one's solid, and this one's actually a tube. Basically then you would extend it out depending on the size of your particular type of window.

Now it has two different types of fixings. You can see here. You can either fix it to a wall or to the top of the window, or you can fix it in underneath the windowsill. Depends on your...or you can fit it to them both. It all depends on your particular type of application. Try to go vertical as opposed to horizontal if you can. Therefore then you can't treat it as climbing frame as well. It's normally designed to go on the inside of the window if I have to be honest with you. It's better if they're actually on the inside so they can't be tampered with in any way.

There's a massive range on our site and we can actually go up to a wall meter 600, which is quite a big window. But just remember that prerequisite that you'll be looking for four inch gaps in between your windows, in between the bars. Of course, available on our website.

But listen, if you need a bit more information, just to let you know, they don't come with fixing screws, because it depends on what type of fixings up straight that you want to fix to. If you're going to fit it into concrete, you'll need screws. Woods screws or whatever. Wall box, or whatever. If you're fitting it into the frame, again you might need to have a different type of screw. And then of course you can go into metal or whatever you choose. So just be mindful that you need to consider getting fixings that are specific to your application.

But listen, if you need a bit more information, if you want a bit more advice, by all means, pop us over an email, use the live chat that's on our website, totally free, or alternatively, pick up the phone and give us a call. Speak to me or any of the guys in the tech team. They're all pretty knowledgeable on this product and of course, all of the other products that we sell online.

But anyway, if you need a bit more information, like I said, give us a shout. But more importantly, come and be with us as a customer. We'd really love that. From me, Darrel and all of us here at the team, take care. Bye-bye.
