A different sort of garage lock, this Garador GAR0070 garage door handle gives a unique look. With a very small back panel, it looks like it is just the handle coming from the garage. Marketed as a "car type" as certain models of cars have a similar handle for either car doors or boots, which this product could also fit in nicely with. - A.J
It is easy to operate, simply use one of the two keys supplied to unlock the handle.
Once unlocked, it will allow you to turn the handle to open or close the garage. Once finished, use the key to lock the handle in position for security.
The lock has a standard square spindle and comes in a chrome plated finish.
This lock would suit Garador Pt. No: 9800115.

Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in to one of our product review videos. The product that we have here at this moment in time is The Garador Car Type Garage Door Locking Handle and here it is here in all its flesh and glory, so to speak.
So what's so special and what's so unique about this particular type of handle? Well, to be honest with you, it doesn't always have to be used for a garage door. If you can imagine yourself having an old car and I think that's what they are trying to emphasize here, is you can imagine the old type cars, forgive me, I don't know much about cars but I've seen cars and they have this sort of type of lock maybe on the boot or something like that or on the side of the door. So it doesn't have to be used for a garage door but nevertheless, it's promoted as being a garage door lock.
Again, if you want to use it for any other application, you can chalk this to suit whatever you want it to be. Again, it doesn't necessarily have to be for garage doors. There's loads of purposes that this could be used for. So obviously it turns 90 degrees as you can see there. This then is square standard on the front there. As I turn it then, it goes to square on the side. So that's the amount of revolution that you get. That's quite important for you to see. I'll pop it up like there and that's the measurement there.
It comes standard with two keys. I'll go a little bit deep here. These are actually manufactured by a company called Lowe and Fletcher. If you look on the front there, you will see some numbers around by the keyhole there. Those numbers there will denote what the cut of the key is. Obviously, on here, it gives the same cut number as it does on the front of the handle. We call these in the industry, the 92 Series. Lowe and Fletcher 92 Series. Just to let you be aware of that. There's a special shape there as well that helps you do that.
What you'll find is that when you put the key in here, you can give it a full lock and take it out and now it's in the lock position there like that, okay? So that's basically how it works. There's not much rocket science in behind this at all. It will also lock as well in that position as well, okay? Well worth you knowing that in can lock in either position, all right? Here you go, locks in that position and also locks in that position. All right? So that's that.
Let's get some measurements for you because if you're thinking of fitting this, it might be well worth you knowing what the measurements are. We got two centre fixings here and if I measure the centres there, give or take half a millimetre, we're looking at about 37mm centres there between that one and that one there, okay? The projection there on that particular thread there is 15mm, 14mm, give a push. This particular follower here, which we call in the industry, a follower, that there is 7mm thick, okay? So 7mm all the way around. I'm going to say 7mm. I'd be happy with 7mm. Maybe pushing it a little bit, eight.
The length on that as well then is what I'm getting at is around about 73mm, the full length. From the back plate all the way, I'm getting somewhere in the region of 84mm there. The width across here, just to give you guys some sort of idea, I've got a measurement coming in there at 57mm. Maybe slightly less about 55-56mm there. The length of that handle, just to give you some sort of idea as well, I'll go from the centre there to the end and I'm talking there, just a smidge around 100mm. So from the centre there to there is about a 100mm.
So there you go guys. That's the Garador, Car Type Locking Garage Door Handle. It's available on LocksOnline's website. If you need to know a little bit more information or you're not 100% sure about something, when you pop on the phone or use our live chat through the day, you can talk to me or any of the guys.
