The T shaped Marley 70 Garage door handle is one of the more popular locking T-Handles for garage doors.  It's only real distinguishing marks and the 'OPEN' and 'CLOSE' engravings on the face of the backplate, as well as a 'METRIC' stamp on the fixing side.

This model has a base plate of around 95mm x 57mm, with 70mm fixing centres. The handle itself measures in at around 110mm in overall length, and projects approximately 50mm from the face of the door.    This is well worth checking on up-and-over garage doors.

With regards to the spindle, these have an 8mm spindle, which is 60mm long, plus an initial housing projection from the base-plate of 20mm, making its furthest point away from the baseplate around 80mm overall.  The hole for the split-pin and/or cable connector on the end of the spindle is situated at around 74mm from the base plate (which is around 54mm from the start of the actual spindle part).

Hi, guys. My name's Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at Locks Online. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. We're putting these short little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer and hopefully a little more detail, in the flesh so to speak.

Today I want to show you a replacement garage door handle that we have on our website. Its part of the Marley range of garage door handles that are quite popular in the UK. This is what they call a Marley 70. There is a baby sister to this as well, called the Marley 50, but we want to concentrate and talk about the Marley 70 today. Some of the distinguishing features of this particular type of garage door, if you thinking that yours is broken or you're looking for this particular type of garage door and you get to know that it's actually a Marley, it's actually stamped on the garage door that it's a Marley, by all means, have a look here.

As you can see here, we have some sort of typing here, which shows it being open and so forth and closed. It gives you an idea that if your garage door has those markings, then chances are that it may be a Marley that you may have. Also on the back as well, you will see here the bar is what we call in the industry a square bar. In other words, when the handle is in that particular position, the flat or the vertical position, it sits square. You can get garage door handles like this that sit on a diamond so it's quite important to be aware of that as well. This is the 70mm centre screw fixing centres here to here. If I was to get a ruler on here, as you can see there, the fixing centres are 70. Sorry if it's upside down for you there, but that's to give you an indication as to what that measurement actually is.

Now, what I will also do is give you a few other measurements because it's quite important to show these particular measurements for you. From the face to the actual end of the actual bar there, as you can see, I'm putting in a measurement there of around about 80mm and that hole that's there to put a split pin in is pushing in around about the 74mm. There's another few measurements that you can check as well on your particular garage door. The actual width of the spindle there, just to give you some sort of idea, is about 7mm. Now, you can lock this. It comes as standard with two keys. That's now in the locked position there. Then you'll be able to put your key in there like that, rotate it one complete turn and now you can obviously unlock it there like that.

To give you some sort of other measurements as well, let's give you how much that's going to project away from the actual garage door. I'm pushing that around about 50mm. The actual overall length or width of that handle, so to speak there, is about 110mm. So they give you some sort of idea. I'll get the measurement of the base as well. I'm getting the base in around about, if I could just measure that there, I'm getting the base in at around about the 95mm overall there. And then the width then, at the nearest I can do this, is about 56 to 57mm, the actual height or the width of it depending on which way it's situated on your garage door.

There you go, guys. The beauty of the video is that it allows you to be able to see it in all its dimensions. Therefore then if you're thinking that you do need to replace your particular garage door, it could have corroded or you've lost the keys etc., then maybe this is the one that you're looking for. And of course, he beauty of the little video here allows you to be able to see it in all its angles etc. and therefore then helping you make a bit better of an informed decision as to whether or not this is the handle for you.

But, listen, if you need a bit more information or you want a bit more advice, pop is over an email. Use the live chat that we have or simply do it the old-fashioned way and pick up the phone and give us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you and, more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer. From me, Darrel and all of us at the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in and catch up with you real soon. Take care. Bye-bye.
