Hi, guys my names Darrel. I'm head of the tech team here at
Locksonline.co.uk and today we're doing some product reviews. More
importantly were doing the product review of the Perko R2 Concealed Door
Closer. That's designed to sit on the frame, between the door on the hinge
side of the door and its frame. This is the actual closer itself here. It
comes as standard with this particular part that would actually sit in the
door and then this particular part, if we could prise that apart. I mean,
it's actually pretty strong. It's spring loaded, but that particular part
then would actually sit on the frame.

The idea is that as you open the door this is under, the chain inside here
will be under an extreme amount of tension with big strong spring that's in
here. When you open the door, the further you open it, the more tension the
spring is, then the faster the door will close. Now, I don't particularly
like that our range of closers like these Perko closes that will fit on
fire doors. Personally, because you haven't got the controlling ability of
this particular type of one, I wouldn't necessarily recommend that you fit
this on a fire door.

Without further adieu, let's get some measurements for you and you can then
decide whether or not if this is suitable for you. Before we go any further
we need to know as to what size hole we need to drill. This particular hole
here, you're going to need to be drilling a 22 millimeter hole there. The
depth of how far deep you need to be drilling it, get yourself an idea now.
You need be looking at least a hundred and sixty mil. A hundred and sixty
mil is just over there, right to the very end, just about a hundred and
fifty-five millimeters. You need to be drilling a 22 millimeter hole, 155
millimeters into the door.

The faceplate measurements, as I'll just quickly get those for you. That's
25 millimeters high, wide sorry. Then the height of that faceplate is 52,
about 51, 52 millimeters. It comes with fixing screws here. It comes with
fixing screws to fix plate on the inside, and obviously then fixing screws
to fit the tube into the door as well. It also comes with this little
device here. It's designed to hold the chain to allow you, when, what you
normally do is you get yourself a claw hammer in there. You open it up with
a claw hammer enough then to pop this in, and this then will hold the chain
out whilst you're trying to pop the, this particular part onto the frame.

Once you've done that then you can pull this out and the chain will be
under tension again. That's what this little device is for. If you need to
make any adjustments in the future, you need to be keeping this. Here you
go. This is the Perko Invisible Door Closer. Quite a popular product in the
UK and used extensively on doors you'll want to be able to close behind
you.

This is Locksonline. This is product reviews and many thanks for taking the
time to look. I hope this video has given you a little bit more information
with a view that if this is the product for you then at least you can make
a considered opinion of that.

Appreciate your time. Thank you. Bye-bye now.
