The Seago - Bowater Multipoint lock comes with a 92mm and 70mm PZ measurement.

Gearboxes are sometimes the one of the first parts of a Multipoint lock to break. This is because the gearbox takes the majority of the load when it comes to the functioning of the Multipoint lock.

These models usually work in conjunction with a 2 hook and 2 roller setup on the strip; they also have a standard deadbolt locking mechanism.

The handing on these models can be reversed, although it is not as simple as other models as the entire case needs to be removed, please enquire as to the handing you need and we can do this for you free of charge.

Hi, guys. My name is Darrel, and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and having a look at one of our product review videos.

The product that we have here today is a little bit of an antique of a product, but it's still available. We're still actually selling quite a few of them. It's the SEAGO or BOWATER gear box that's designed from multipoint locks. It's quite unique in its style. The actual lock is no longer made, but we can still get hold of the gear boxes, the actual centre part of the gear box for this particular type of lock. If on the strip of where all your bolts on your lock and all shoots up, if you can see the words SEAGO or you can see the words BOWATER, the chances are this is the gear box that suits you.

It's quite long, which is quite distinctive. If I was to get a measurement on that, the overall length there, guys, is nearly 235mm. It's a very, very long gear box. Some of the other measurements that you would have as well is that it has two separate followers here, and the idea is that it allows you to have a latching facility from the outside, whereas on the inside you could use the handle to get out, but from the outside you might have to use the key if you're using that function. You may not be, but you may be.

Of course, the distinctive marker is that if you open or you take the handles off, and there are indifferent followers here, then you know that you are definitely using that functionality of it. The measurement from there to the centre of the keyhole is 92mm, and the centre from there the case centre and the key hole is 70mm. So they're distinct in that respect.

The actual lock itself, when it was made and when it was available, was a two hook and a two-roller version. You got a hook at the top, you got a hook at the bottom, and you got rollers on either side as well. Of course, you got the deadbolt version in the centre as well.

When it comes to handling of these, and it's very important to be aware of this, is that you can handle it yourself by taking off all of these screws, but it is a bit of a nightmare. You need to know what you're doing. So as a bit of service to our customers, what we can do is if you let us know which handle your door is, we will actually make sure that this is turned specific for you before we ship it out. Therefore then you don't have to mess around trying to do it yourself. Bit of a top tip, bit of a service, and that's totally free of charge.

There you go, guys. This is the SEAGO BOWATER. The actual lock is no longer available, and this is just the actual gear box. It means you can still keep your place secure using the existing lock. You don't need to have to buy a complete new multipoint lock for it. Available on LocksOnline.

If there's something that I haven't mentioned or you need a little bit more information, please, by all means, pop us over an email. You can use the phone or use live chat on our website. That's totally free. You can talk to me or any of the guys in the sales team. We're all pretty knowledgeable on these particular products. We'd love to hear back from you, but more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer. So from me, Darrel, and all of us here at the LocksOnline team, take care, and we'll catch up with you real soon. Bye-bye now. Bye-bye.
