Hi guys. Thanks for tuning in. My name is Darrel, I'm head of the tech team at LocksOnline.co.uk and today we're looking at the Union 8094 toilet privacy lock.
So let's have a look at the part of the lock that most people will see, and that's the outside, and at this moment in time I'm showing it as engaged, but then if I turn it around I can show it now as vacant. And this is obviously designed for a public area sort of lock, or like in a club or in a restaurant etc., you may want to consider using this type of lock. So that's what you actually see on the outside. Just to give you some sort of idea, see if you zoom in there you got that little bit of a groove there, like a screwdriver groove, that is where you can actually put a screwdriver in or a two pence piece or a penny piece and allow you to operate the bolt on the inside, from the outside, in the event of an emergency in a public area should you need to be able to get in. So that's what that does there.
So on the bolt itself, here is the actual bolt, this is the part that would actually be situated inside. This is the brass finish and I'm quite impressed, I'm very impressed with the quality of the finish of this, it's pretty pucker guys, so it feels good quality, it feels well built. And to give you some sort of idea of when I say it's well built, look they've even decided to put a nylon washer in there to make the turn a lot more supple and more precise and pronounced, which is great.
Now depending on the handing, whether or not your door opens that way or it opens that way, you can turn this to whichever bolt that you want to do, whichever hand that you want it to be. And, of course, on the inside here you will see that there's a slit there in the handle, and consequently there's a slit in there and it comes with then, this spindle that sits in this bag here with all the screw fixings, so it allows you when you actually turn this like that, and consequently it's going to replicate what your turn is by putting vacant or engaged in. Okay? So that's that there.
Just for your information as well, you may not necessarily want vacant and engaged. If you turn it around and you're to take the circlip off, you can actually have it as red or white, so red don't enter white is okay, so just to let you know. That's a little top tip there. Also the keep then, this is the keep, obviously most toilet doors etc., open inwards, and this is the keep then that would obviously sit in there like that to allow you then to stop the door from being pushed inwards.
To give you some sort of measurements, one of the most critical measurement is, especially if your fitting, your door isn't fitting correctly, this projection here when you turn it into that position, is 19 millimetres, so that's the projection there. This particular lock is 65 millimetres wide there, it's 40 millimetres high, and it's 12.5 millimetres thick, okay so that's to give you some sort of idea. The measurements of all of this is on our site, so it's all there should you need to be a bit more specific in regards to these measurements.
I may have mentioned it's available in a brass finish, this is the brass finish and again I can't emphasise the quality of this particular finish, it's very, very good. It's available in a satin chrome and it's also available in a chrome finish as well should you need to do so, so yeah, proper pucker.
So yeah, this is the Union 8094, now it's available on our site LocksOnline.co.uk. We'd love to see you as a customer.
