The width of the Vita - Off set window lock is 16mm wide. A narrower version which measures 13mm is also available. This window lock is available in 400mm, 600mm, 800mm and 1000mm lengths. The backset available on the Vita - Off set window lock is 22mm, if you are unsure as to what backset you currently have, Vita prints their backsets on the side of the gearbox, and this one reads "22".
Vita or Vitawin, have designed and manufactured this UPVC window lock and its gearbox in an offset style. They offer a wide range of locking solutions and specialize in UPVC products.
The offset feature means the gearbox sits slightly off to the side but still in the centre of the window lock itself.
The reason for this is because some window designs require an offset model to fit the amount of space provided, they are also suitable for retro fitting other off set models.

Hi guys, my name is Darrel, and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos.
The products that we're actually looking at today is a range of window locks that's designed for UPVC doors. To be honest with you, the style of these particular window locks are not really made any more. And there's only a very few range of manufacturers that are available now or are actually still producing them. This particular range is available from a company called Vita or Vitawin and they're probably of the off set range of locks that are designed for UPVC windows.
Most people now are going for the gearbox types, the centre gearboxes where you got bars that move backwards and forwards. Spikes that move backwards and forwards and so forth. This particular range is quite unique in as much as that the actual gearbox or the actual part that the handle sits is slightly sitting off centre as you may see there.
One of the other things that you need to be aware of as well is that this is what we call the standard groove. In other words, probably 16 millimetres wide. We do do a narrow version as well at 13 millimetres but this particular range here is 16 millimetres. So that's quite important as well.
They come in a range here of 400. They come in at 600. They also come in 800 and also a thousand long. Now what you may find is that even if you might not have a Vita in your window, if you've got this particular style, then you can use this as a retrofit. You can actually...probably by adjusting where these keeps and [??] on your actual window frame, you can actually use this particular style.
Now one of the other distinctive measurements that you'll find with these, well is that, actually stamped on the actual centre is the number 22 and that tells you that the actual centre from there to there is actually 22 millimetres. So it might be well worth you check in to make sure that you got the right size back set. Standard 42 millimetres centre stops and centres the P angle as pretty standard. And also the follower, 7 millimetres. That again is pretty standard.
But you can use these if you've got this particular type of lock and it's all corroded or it's not working correctly, by all means, you can use this a retro but you may end up having to change the keeps slightly to take into consideration these new centres.
So, there you go guys. There's a full range where it's available still on LocksOnline.co.uk.
