The S-Series Electro-Magnetic Locks are a well known range of surface-mount maglocks, and on this page we include only those which are compatible with the glass door brackets making them suitable for glass door sets. As with the full S-Series, each maglock incorporates both a visual
and audible signal to inform users as to the doors status.
Three colour codes give a visual reference as to the lock's status; Blue = Active Voltage, Red = Locked & Green = Open.

Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now, we've put these short little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer in, hopefully, a little bit more detail and in the flesh, so to speak.
So today I want to show you the LocksOnline S Range of magnetic locks that we have on our website, and this is the actual lock here. We've taken the liberty of being able to power this up so we can actually show some of the features that this particular lock has.
So what we'd like to do is that's the actual lock itself here as you can see, this is the basic setup of the whole lock itself. Now by all means, what I have done is I've taken this cover off to allow our customers as well to be able to see inside here and we've actually powered this up here. So we've got some nice red. I'm sorry, green LEDs there glowing.
Now the idea is that when you've got green LEDs it's telling you that the door is open. When the armature plate is against the armature here, it will actually change to red, and we'll show you that in a second. So that's the actual mag itself. We'll get some measurements on that a little bit later.
This is the actual fixing plate. Now this particular fixing plate will actually screw up via these screw fixings here allowing you to screw that up into the surface onto the top of a door, a frame, etc., to allow the magnet then to sit on here. Inside these particular units here, just inside here, I know if I can just rattle those down. They probably won't glow for me. Now here's one here. There's the screw fixings then that allow you then to screw to this particular plate. So that would actually be mounted on there like that then.
So that's the idea. You fix that to the frame, and this then would fit up onto the actual plate that you've got there. So once you've done that, this armature plate then is secured to the door. It's secured by a single bolt in the centre and here's the actual fixing kit inside here.
Now, there's a few little things that you maybe want to be aware of on these. You've got these little nodules here which allow to put pins here in either side and that allows then the magnet to float. You have to make sure that this magnet can float in all dimensions. It's absolutely imperative that it sits flush against the armature plate when you're mounting one of these, just a few top tips.
Also, this little button here that you may see that particular button there forces the plate away from the magnet when it de-energises, just in case there's any residual magnetism actually in the magnet itself. So that's well worth looking at, and one thing that's in the kit as well is we have some of these fixing supports here, and the idea is that you would screw this onto one of the screws on the magnet and then screw this then to the frame. So if for whatever reason this was to fall from here, then at least it's not going to fall and hit somebody on the head or similar. At least then it would be held up by these two fixing hooks. So well worth having a think about that, they normally can screw in there and then screw onto individual screws on the actual unit itself. So that's well worth bearing that in mind.
Now, of course one of the distinct advantages with this particular type, this particular magnet has a monitor set of relay contacts. Now Bowman zoom in in there for us and you can see that we have a normally open and normally close set of contacts. There's an un-monitored version as well just in case you wouldn't necessarily need the monitoring, but basically it will actually change the state of the relay when the door is in the locked position. So that's quite interesting to know and that could lead through to a light somewhere or a buzzer or even an access control system.
Another advantage of this particular range as well is it would also work on 24 volt DC just in here by the side of this tumour block are some jumpers that you can adjust to make it from 12 to 24 so again another interesting option that this particular range of mag locks has. There is also a full set of Z narrow brackets if you want to be able to look at all the different ways you can configure fitting this to a door.
So without further ado, what I'd like to try and do as you can see there, you've got the glow of the green LEDs on the side there, now the very minute that I put this armature plate on here and I'll just pop that on here like that, that's now that's clipped into position. As you can see now they've changed red. Therefore a visual point of view, you'll be able to see whether or not the actual door is in the locked position from a distance, so to speak.
So there you, guys. What I'm going to do is going to have to unpower that now. I just disconnect that here just allow it to release itself, just pull that out a little bit there. There you go. So that's now out of there. Let me just pop that back in there just for safety. There you go. That's now done. It's nicely out of the way there.
So let's get some measurements on this so therefore then you can then see for yourself what the size of this particular mag is. So the overall length of it, obviously, I've fixed the mag thing to it now, the overall length of that is 255 mm. The actual height of it there is about 40 mm, about 41-42 mm there. Okay. The depth of it is as well just for your information that is pushing around about the 30 mm.
