Hi guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LockOnline.co.uk and thanks for taking some time to tune into one of our product review videos. The product we have here today is the Lowe and Fletcher the 5861 sliding cabinet door lock and here's the actual cabinet lock here now.
There are two different sizes and you'll see that there are two different sizes on our site. And the size relates to the projection from the back here to the actual part that actually sits out on here. You can either get a 24mm projection or you can get a 26mm projection, and this one here is the 26mm projection. Okay so, just to let you be aware, just in case you need to be aware of that depending on how thick your doors are.
Now the principle of operation, how this actually works, is quite straightforward enough. You just basically, you've got a set of sliding doors in a cabinet and one slides that way, one slides that way. You can use this in the centre where the two would overlap each other in the centre and you would put this on the outside door and the idea is that when you want to lock your doors you just basically push that in there like that and this bolt would then fire into the door, the sliding door that sits behind it, and then effectively you're locking the two together, so they're not going to move.
So that's the principle of it. Straightforward, simple, there's nothing fantastic about that. The door lock then of course then, you need to put your key in and you turn it like that, and it springs back out and allows you then to open the door. So that's the principle and the function of how the lock works.
Now, we can get these in keyed alike groups. So if you wanted to have a batch of these all under the same key, again that's no problem at all. Pop us over an email, use the live chat, it's totally free on our website. We can get some prices and so forth on those particular type of options.
But while I'm here, what I'll do is I'll get some basic measurements for you so you can then make an informed decision that if you're trying to replace this particular type of cabinet lock or you want to try and fit it, at least these measurements should help you make more of an informed decision.
So if I start with, if I take the key out of there and I was to look at the bolt, the starters, the bolt projects out 10mm okay guys so, when it actually shoots into the door, the other side, it'll project 10mm. The diameter of that bolt is 8mm okay. And what I'll do is I'll get these fixing centres for you as well, just in case you need to fix to the substrate, and I'm getting that in at 36mm okay. So from the fixing centres, which are counter-sunk as you can see there, is 36mm. The actual projection of the actual, the nozzle projection, is 26mm in this particular one and it is the 24mm version as well so it's slightly smaller. And the actual diameter of that as well is, I'll get that for you as well, and that there is 21, nearly 22mm there. Yeah, 22mm.
So there you go guys, this is the 5861. It's brother or its sister is the 5860 I think, or 62, sorry, the 5862. And they are designed for sliding doors, as I've explained how they work, it should be straightforward enough. And like I said, you can have them in keyed alike groups as well or to differ, which is what these are. Just for your information as well while you are here, if you actually zoom in there for us Lee, at the actual nozzle there, just in case you might think that you are looking up this particular type of lock and you've lost the keys, well that would actually denote the key number on there guys.
So if you say, "Oh that's the lock I want" but it's only the keys you've lost, why not pop us over an email and say can you get us some keys for this, so we can give you a quote for the keys. And then you wouldn't need to buy the lock off us. No we'd love you to buy the lock but you know let's face it, if the keys are going to be a bit cheaper you can go and get yourself some keys. So that's fine, that's no problem with it. Either way, we'd love to see you as a customer.
So I can't think of anything else that I need to say other than that but, if you need some more information or there's something I haven't mentioned there and you want it a little bit more advice on it, pop us over an email, use the live chat, it's totally free on our website. And as I've said before, either way, we'd love to see you as a customer. So, from me, Darrel, and all of us here at the LocksOnline team, thank you very much for tuning in and we'll catch up with you real soon. Take care now, bye-bye.
