This particular lockable deadbolt set offers a fantastic double-bolt-throw which allows you to turn the key once for twice as much bolt throw as standard, giving you a full 25mm bolt projection.
To put things into perspective, the part of the 3621 British Standard (BS3621) which specifies minimum bolt lengths, requires a 20mm bolt projection, so this is a decent sized bolt, particularly useful for when you need to lock down the door a little more than usual like you would with your front door over night for example. Although it is worth noting that the BS3621 kitemark does not apply in the case of locking knobsets.
With the bolt-through fitting design, you can be sure that you're getting a nice firm fit on the door, with no support being required from the door material itsself; as the fixing bolts simply pass through the door into the opposing side, so the outer piece and inner piece are essentially clamped together against the surface of the door.
Designed for doors 35-45mm thick; we also offer an additional fitting kit for thicker doors; which allows you to fit these onto doors up to 60mm thick; covering the vast majority of metal and timber doors of all ages; and even the newer composite doors.
These are available in two stunning finishes of Polished Chrome and Polished Brass; allowing for seamless integration into the majority of door hardware finish / colour schemes out there.
