Hi, guys. My name is Darrel. I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look on one of our product review videos. Now, we're putting these short, little videos together to be ableto give you, and our customers a little bit more information on the products that we have to offer that more than maybe a stock image or a bit of descriptive text. Being able to see the product in the flesh, obviously, gives you a more informed shopper's decision as to whether or not this is actually fit for the application that you're looking for.
Today, I want to talk to you about a window restrictor primarily is designed UPVC market, but variably it can be used on case windows, wooden windows, and obviously aluminium windows as well. So this is the actual type. It's called a wire window restrictors. Incredibly popular product on our website. It comes in a few different finishes. The one I have here is the white finish, there's a brown finish also, and I think there's a silver finish as well. And the idea here is that this would be fitted to the frame. This would actually be fitted to the window or vice or versa. Tt doesn't really matter. and the idea here is that the window will never ever open any more than the length of this particular wire. Now depending on where you sit this in relationship to the hinge will depend on how far the window will open. So bear that in mind a little bit.
So, what you would do is this here would be screwed on the frame or on the window, it doesn't really matter which either way you want to go. Preferrably suggest the frame, and it comes with this fittings here that allows you, it actually digs its own hole. It cuts its own hole. Most windows these days have a metal inserts with them to give them strength, etc. And this is designed then with a screwdriver to be able to drive through, and cut into the metal, and then get the thread deep into the strength of the actual window, which well thought there from the manufacturers.
So you fix that piece here. This is the part that would actually go on the window. Inside behind that capter is the base plate, and you'd screw that there, and then you'd screw that there on to the frame.
So the idea here is quite simple, once you've done that you'd be able to put the key in there like that, turn in like that, and that would allow you then to take the window part, take the restrictor part if you wanted to open the window all the way. And of course, that would pop back in there like that, and then you'd be able to lock it in back into position there like that.
Now the overall length of this, if I can keep that straight enough. I'd give you some sort of idea, the length of the actual cable, I'm sure it's actually specified. The overall length of the actual cable itself is about a 190 mm from there to there. And then you've obviously got your unit there. So that's quite of a bit of distance there that you can get away with.
So there you go, guys. If you need a bit more information or you want a bit more advice on this product or any of the products that we have.
