Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.com.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos.
Today we're looking at the Era UPVC 832 Snap Lock that's now available on our website. The principle and the functionality of the particular type of a window lock is very similar in operation to what we call in the industry a sash jammer. And for that very reason, I don't see any reason why this couldn't be used on a door as well as a window. The principles in the operation are very, very straightforward and it works incredibly well. So here's the actual product here, as you can see. We've got this little bit of a working model here that has been donated by Era to give our customers an opportunity to actually see it in its operation.
As you can imagine, this is particularly the window and it's opening outwards or in this particular case we would call this top-hung as you can see here. It's only to show that that would be something that is opening. Of course, that could also be a door or it could be anything where you need to have a cause and effect there.
Now the principle with this particular type of lock, and one of the things that is advantageous, is that it's designed to snap lock. So you can only take the key out when this is actually in that position, like that, and if you want to unlock it, it's simple by turning like that. You've now locked it but it's also locked automatically so you don't need a key in which to lock it. To unlock it, you simply have to put the key in, turn it, and that would allow you then to unlock it, like that, and open the door, or the window in this case.
They're available in either a brown or a white finish and we can, if you wanted to as well, have them keyed alike in groups. Now on a door, what we would recommend perhaps is using one of these at the bottom and one of them at the top as well to help in supporting the security that you may already have. And depending on how big your window is as well, you may need to have one or two on your window as well, depending on your particular size of window.
But if you need a bit more information or a bit more advice, by all means pop us over an email, use our live chat on our website or just give us a call and have a chat with us over the phone. Either way, we'd love to hear from you and, more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer. Thank you. So from me, Darrel, and all of here at the LocksOnline team, thank you very much. Take care and catch up with you real soon. Bye-bye now.
