These sash window restrictors ideal for keeping your sash windows either fully shut, or simply restricting the allowed opening of each sash based on the position that you mount it.

Suitable for the majority of sliding / sash windows, including uPVC windows, aluminium / metal framed windows, and timber / wooden framed windows, these really stand out from the crowd due to their versatility.

They are available either as blank restrictors, or there are also keyed versions, where the supplied key must be entered in order to push the restrictor in to allow the window to be opened fully.

Conforming to BS 6375 (Part 2 1987) and BS8213-1 : 2004, these have been vigorously tested and have come out on top!

Fixing screws are not supplied due to the versatility of application on these, so you'll need to consider what type of fixings you need depending on the type of window frames you have.

Sliding Sash Window Stop-Lock for uPVC, Metal & Wooden Sash Windows

Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now I'm putting the short, little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer in hopefully a little bit more detail and in the flesh, so to speak.
So today I want to show you a sash window lock that we have available. This is the actual product. It is here. Now this would actually be fitted onto the outer sash and the idea here is that the inner sash will be situated here. You could fit this anywhere up on the rails on either side on the outer sash. And the idea here is that if you try to drop the top sash down or the inside sash up or whatever like that, then it going to stop against here and it isn't going to allow either one to exceed wherever this is positioned. So if you needed a bit of ventilation or similar, you'd probably pop this up a little bit higher, maybe give yourself a couple of inches then in which to give you that ventilation.
So, this is actually always locked in the locked position here and for you to be able to open it a little bit further on the front of it there, it's quite hard to actually see. But on the front here we have an actual key hole. And the idea is that you would pop this in to here like that and by pushing that in there like that. It does allow you then to be able to pop the actual lock past, lift it up a little bit, and therefore then you can pop all this out and then that then will automatically be kept in. And therefore then it allows you then to be able to open the window.
The very minute that you close the window back past this, this is going to spring back out and therefore then lock the window back up again. So the idea is that you cut yourself out a hole in the back, there like that, you'd screw that back onto the front. It comes with a nice plastic finish as well. So that would then clip on to there like that, nice and tidy, and therefore then give you a really, really nice finish there. So that's the basic principle and that's how it actually works, et cetera.
So without further ado, let me give you some quick, little measurements because that might be important for you to bear that in mind. So the actual depth of this would end up being about 20 millimetres in to the actual window itself. The actual height of it overall, there's about 40 millimetres there, and hopefully, you can see that there. The actual length of the actual lock itself is about 65 millimetres and the fixing centres there are around about 51 millimetres fixing centres.
Now they don't come with screws. It depends on whether or not you're fitting them into aluminium or whether or not you're fitting it into plastic. I can't see any reason why these can't be fitted into wood. I think what is quite important though is to make sure that this particular part you would sit proud. So let's just see how much proud that actually sits. So that's 2.7 millimetres. So you need to make sure that you have that gap in between the two sashes and I'm sure you would have with all the different forms of sealers and all that you have to allow one for it to slide passed each other. Because that would actually sit slightly projected there. And of course, then it comes then with one key.
You can get key like groups as well, so if you got a couple of these you'd like to fit in, then of course you can have one key that fits them all. And of course we can cut you extra keys if you need them.
Listen if you need a bit more information on this or any of the products we have, pop us over an e-mail, use the live chat that we have, or simply just gives us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you, and more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer.
So from me, Darrel, and all of us at the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in and I hope to catch up with you real soon. Take care now. Bye.
