Sliding doors such as patio doors require a hooking type lock mechanism in order to secure the door, as logically this is the only way to prevent the door from being opened.
This multipoint lock has been designed with this in mind, offering a total of six hooks, situated in opposing directions above and below the centre gearbox. This allows for a very strong hold into the keeps in the frame, and also prevents the door from being lifted in an attempt to mitigate the catching of the hooks in their keeps. In addition to this, the lock also is fitted with an anti-lifting device, which is effectively a protruding rod which enters the frame statically and will therefore not allow the door to lift.
A small lug on the lock allows the locking mechanism to know when the door is open or closed; preventing accidental locking of the door without it being fully closed first. This prevents any mishaps with regards to securing your property, but also prevents potential damage that could be caused by attempting to slide the door closed whilst the lock has already been engaged.
