For years, the concept of how to offer unique access codes to guests at your Air-BnB or Holiday Let properties has been a daunting affair; with the options being either highly impractical, or heavily expensive. But luckily, those days are gone, and we have the perfect lock for AirBnB & Holiday Lets!
Thanks to the latest and greatest remotely programmable code lock; you can now have a combination lock on your property which allows you to assign unique codes to your guests for the duration of their stay, from the comfort of your living room - via your mobile phone! And what's more; it does not require an internet connection or any form of wireless signal at the property!
The GuestLock is simple to set up with quick and easy use of an App for your smartphone (available for both iPhone and Android devices). There are many functions that the GuestLock offers; but the real beauty - and the reason we consider it to be the best lock to choose for an AirBnB property or holiday let - is in the NETCode function. This allows you to automatically generate time and duration specific codes which will work on the GuestLock keypad without having to interact with the lock itself in any way.

(if not, we have more details on how this technology works below, just keep reading!)
The only time you need to be within range of the lock is when setting up the device. This allows you to connect wirelessly to the lock and create any generic user codes you may wish to have on the device - such as for the cleaner or family members which are free to enter the property as they please. These codes can then be shared out to the relevant recipients via text, email or any other sharing platform you have on your mobile phone.
At this point, when you turn on the NETCode facility, the GuestLock will download a universal timestamp from your mobile phone via a Universal Time Server, using your mobile phone's internet connection. This is where the magic happens!
Now that the GuestLock has a record of universal time, it will count seconds to keep time for the duration of its life. This timestamp is part of the matrix the lock will use to decode and check the validity of the combination codes you issue out to your guests.
So when you want to create a unique access code for a guest or tenant, your mobile phone will briefly connect to the same Universal Time Server that was initially used to set the internal clock on the GuestLock. Using this timestamp, the App will use a series of algorithms to generate a code based on the time and duration of stay you have selected for the code to be active for. When the guest then puts this code into the keypad on the GuestLock, the NETCode system will decode the combination and check whether or not it matches the current time being kept on it's internal clock.
If you do Online Banking you will be no doubt familiar with the little card readers you can use in your home which generate a code based on your card and PIN number, for you to verify in your online account. This is the same type of technology that is being used in the GuestLock, using time and unique IDs to generate codes and then de-construct them to check their validity.
This means you never have to physically go and add, delete or change codes ever again!
