Combination Padlock
Here at LocksOnline we get a buzz when strange parcels turn up marked for the marketing department, We get this air of superiority and think, Marketing Department That makes us feel big :-)
Maybe one day we will have a marketing department, team of guys reviewing products to launch on LocksOnline. But at the moment it is us geeky locksmiths and web monkeys, o, and the nice ladies :-)
We are seeing more manufactures using us a sounding board, perhaps our product reviews are hitting the mark in the industry, and with the 1000s of hits we get every day more manufactures are seeing the importance of LocksOnline as a sounding board to promote product launches to the consumer.
No where else can you get this exposure, by displaying in locksmith shops etc.
Anyway, opening the box, we saw this dome shaped padlock and our first thoughts were OK, it looks OK not mind blowing, Just OK.
Finding the nearest scissors to hack your way through the plastic wrapping we got the device out on the bench and at the same time saw what the label promoted Its Lights Up
OK, this brought the attention of the web guys, Lights up eh? let me see!
And yes, it lights up in such a vivid green, How mad is this, it looks like and lights up like something that should be better suited on a Superman film.
OK you may think gimmick, and yeah a little, I guess you would be right, but it does have a sensible side as well, when your down at your garden shed on a winters evening, spin the dial and the dial lights up so you can see the numbers. OK, its making a little more sense now.
The combination number is on the back of the device when you first get it out of the packaging, this can be taken off and kept somewhere safe.
It works in the same way as a combination lock on a safe, three times to the right, two to the left etc.
There is no option to pin up a new code, it is factory set, so be mindful to keep it a secret.
This padlock is not a mighty Chubb or a Squire CEN Grade 5 padlock but then its not their prices either, Around £20 and you to can have this padlock keeping things cool, trendy and secure.
Perhaps ideal for low value security, perhaps a small garden shed, or perhaps with a little chain a child's bike would be OK, ladders in the back yard another idea. But a fab idea would be the locker at school, yeah, yeah, yeah. Now thats cool :-)
And, of course the least worry, NO KEYS TO LOOSE
