Access Control Solutions offer a broad range of options when it comes to controlling access and entry to your premises. This applies across domestic and commercial and applications, from having an electronic locking solution at home, to a system that caters for several hundred staff at work.
Part of the appeal of an access control system is in not needing to carry bulky keys around with you. Instead you gain entry to a building via a PIN code, or by presenting a card or fob, even a fingerprint. These different options certainly make life easier, but they do still require you to be up close to the reader device to enter the code or present the card. For most of us this isn't an issue, but if you're looking for a solution that suits someone with restricted mobility or that could be used by drivers gaining entry to a depot, it can cause a bit a problem.
We have a solution!
The LocksOnline TAG-Pro Long-Range Active Proximity Reader allows you to trigger the access control reader from up to 15 metres away. This means that you don't need to be right up close to the reader for it read your proximity card and activate the door lock or gate barrier.
Think of all the scenarios this could be useful for. Perhaps you've got a gated staff car park, and would like to have the barrier open when a car is approaching. If the driver has the card with them the reader will detect it as they approach and send the 'open gate' message. Maybe some of your staff are regularly loading or unloading stock yet for security the doors need to be kept closed - with this system they can be carrying stock or pushing the trolleys without having to stop and find their card.
This standalone system can also be used in a domestic setting too, and particularly comes into its own for the disabled or those with restricted mobility. Rather than having to rummage around for a card, or reach up from a sitting position in a wheelchair, this reader will detect the card once it comes into range. Of course if you're regularly carrying in the weekly shopping or have a pushchair or young child to hold on to, this system makes unlocking the door easier!
So how does it work?
The reader is multipurpose, in that it combines the functions of the card reader and control unit in one neat box. It does require a power supply to enable it to work, and will also need to be connected up to your locking solution so that it can unlock the door or gate when a card activates the reader.
To enable the longer range of operation, the cards themselves contain a battery. Unlike some other long range systems that would require the card to be replaced when the battery ran out, with this one you simply change the battery! There is a choice of two cards as well, a standard card, and a power saving version that will only trigger the transponder to activate when it's moved.
The reader device will support up to 30 users, making it an ideal choice for domestic or small business use. You can find full product information on the link below:
