The Kitemark has now been used for over 60 years, and is a visual means of letting customers know that a product has been
independently tested against a Standard, and passed, and that the manufacturing quality systems have been assessed against BS
EN ISO 9000.

After the award of the Kitemark, unannounced visits to the assessed company's premises will be made by the B.S.I., to ensure that
the agreed quality levels are being maintained. Failure to maintain quality standards will result in the license for using the Kitemark
being withdrawn.
