The Three Amigos Christmas Bike Run - Pembrokeshire
Once a year, every year for over the last ten years a bunch of motor cycle guys and gals have shown their soft side from the leathers and denim to give something back to the Children who are less fortunate than we are.
The 3 Amigos Bikers Group is responsible every year for the Pembrokeshire Bike Run. This year on the 15th December they will be organising the biggest bike run Pembrokeshire has seen for over a decade.
I am pretty new to motorbiking, It was only two years ago I got back into motorbikes from the 125cc that all are allowed to ride on a provisional licence back in the mid eighties.
I heard through the local bike shops in the county about a bunch of people that hold a charity bike ride in aid of the local Withybush Hospital Children’s ward.
There are no rules just turn up in Pembroke around lunch time and follow the crowd,
I am not sure how many bikers turned up over the years but on the last two bike rides The commons car park at Pembroke was bursting with bikers. Must have been in the 100’s, I would guess at least 300 motorbikes.
The route over the years have been round Pembroke, down into Pembroke Dock, over the bridge and into Neyland. From Neyland into Milford Haven and then off to Haverfordwest where we all would meet at the Hospitable where there is Mince Pies and a cup of tea for all.
Some people donate money, some give a present for a child. Some donate gifts so The Three Amigos can use as prizes for raffles.
The last two years LocksOnline has donated a safe to the Guys so they can raffle and raise some pennies.
The atmosphere is electric and I am sure the event takes a hell of a lot of organisation before the run. Over the last few years we have been very fortunate with the weather, its been very cold but at least it has not rained. I guess we are all keeping our fingers crossed that it is the same this year as well.
If you like bikes then you must call down the commons car park on the 15th December, if you have a bike, give it a big polish and come and join us.
Obviously, The Three Amigos want to raise cash and lots of it so please pop onto their web site and get in contact. It’s all for a great cause.
What I think is great also is the help the local police give to this group of people, they help close roads and make sure the whole ride goes without a glitch. So a personal thanks from us at LocksOnline and I guess a thanks for the organisers as well.
I know we are a national and international company trading all over the UK and the World, and I am sure there are similar events happing all over, we are trying to do our little part here is Pembrokeshire SW Wales.
