Three Amigos Christmas Bike Run 2012 Proud Sponsors
On December 15th Pembrokeshire went Biker mad and over 200 motor bikes of all shapes and sizes started the Pilgrimage from Pembroke Commons car park to Withybush Hospital all in the aid of children’s charity.
The sun shone when it came up on Saturday morning and like me I guess there was loads of motor bike enthusiasts washing, cleaning and oiling their pride and joy before the meeting at around 12:00 Hrs at Pembroke.
The bell strikes one o clock and what an almighty roar from 100’s of motorbikes all starting up ready for the off, The main procession starts off from the car park and around Pembroke’s one way system to get all the bikes onto the road. We actually come back to the commons car park once we have circled Pembroke, we then headed off to Pembroke Dock and did a once around the town centre before heading over the bridge. It was great that the Council decided to not charge for the procession. Once over the bridge we went down through Neyland and up the steep hill back onto the main road. That steep hill paid toll on much of everyones clutches. Again waiting for the bikes at the end to get down Neylands High Street the front of the procession was stuck on the hill waiting for the catch up.
It was not long before we were in Milford and making one hell of a racket as before, Horns beeping, engines revving making for an almighty din. Little children with there mouths wide open a gasp of what they were seeing. Being on a bike, I would not hazard a guess as to how load we all were, but I guess it was loud. very loud.
Now an hour into the ride we were going through Johnston, with the very same gusto and noise, waving and beeping to all the cars and people lining the streets.
Eventually, Haverfordwest was in sight with only the smallest of showers to cool the engines on route. Haverfordwest Town Centre is echo central as you climb the hill, engines revving, horns bleating, and very much of the same as everywhere else.
Not long now before the end where we all met up at Withybush Hospital for a cup of tea and a mince pie.
Many £100.00 of pounds is raised for Withybush Children’s ward along with other charities that the Three Amigos Raise funds for. We donated a safe as sponsor to the main Raffle and personally we got some toys for children less fortunate than us.
In all it was a great day when butch bikers show their softer side and help others. So pleased to have been part of it and glad LocksOnline could contribute towards it.
Well Done :-)
