Ty Hafan Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge
We, at Locksonline, needs a release sometimes and to put something back into the community. Also our type of work chatting with customers on the phone typing on computer keyboards etc, can be quite sedentary and not good for that mass that seems to accumulate around the middle of us chaps.
So this year we are all on a bit of a keep fit campaign and to make things better and worth all that hard work down the gym we are going to scale the three largest peaks in Wales. Snowdon, Cader Idris and Pen y Fan. Whats even better we are going to climb these mountains for a children hospice charity called Ty Hafan.
Ty Hafan based on Cardiff helps children and their families cope with terminal illnesses, these guys do some amazing work and to be honest words cannot express the help they give to all that are so unfortunate to have to deal with a young ones passing.
We are trying to raise £2000 for Ty Hafan and welcome anyone who could spare a couple of quid pop over to our just given web page and click donate.
But in the meantime we are down the gym most days, swimming on others, people who we know that has done this challenge has said it not something to be sniffed at, there is a total of over 20 miles of walking up and down these mountains and this all has to be done in one day of 15 hours. with a start at 04:00 in the morning we will start at Snowdon and the mini buss will pick us up and take us off the Cader Idris and then finally half way over Wales to the Brecon Beacons to climb the arduous Pen Y Fan. Blisters, joints swelling, muscles aching will all be part of the course for this, at the same time safety is of utmost paramount. Which means we have to carry all the kit that if all else fails we would be able to hold our own on the mountain until help can arrive.
A bit apprehensive in one respect and then on the other a challenge and even better giving something back for in comparison a little pain for a day or so, where families and their loved ones have to contend with difficulties for years with the loss of a little one.
To quote ‘Tescos’ every little helps, pop a couple of quid if you have a few to spare it would be warmly appreciated.
